| Halloween - October 31st - The Origin of Halloween |
The Origin of HalloweenA lot of religious people think that Halloween is derived from evil, demons and basically a holiday for Satan to cherish. Believe it or not, the Origin Of Halloween is actually derived from the Catholic Church! There is one story that states that on October 31st the spirits that had died throughout the past year would come back and take over (possess) living people for the next year to come. It is supposedly said to be their only means of having hope for an afterlife. The Celts said that every single law of space and time were stopped so that the spirits could intertwine with the living. The people that were still living did not want to be possessed, so they pretty much went crazy and put the fires in their homes out so that it would seem cold and dark. After that they dressed up in costumes that would fool the spirits into thinking that they were spirits as well. They went around the villages screaming and making the spirits afraid so that they would not possess them. There are so many stories about the Origin Of Halloween that it is hard to establish false between truth. Though you must admit, even if they are false, they make quite interesting stories and they feed hungry imaginations quite well. Halloween is one of the most fun times of the year. Especially for children, with their wild imaginations get to become the superhero or super-natural characters that they have always dreamed to be. Maybe to make the next Halloween more festive tell stories about the history and origin of Halloween, and really give them what they want to hear.
