There are many easy home made Halloween costumes. They don't need to cost you an arm and a leg either and you just may have many of the costume pieces right in your very own home.
Let's take the old standby ghost. This is a good home made Halloween costume. All you really need is an old sheet from the linen closet. Cut out some eyes and then make sure the sheet is not too long. Use the fabric you cut off the bottom to make a treat bag to match.
Next, why not try a clown costume. Pick some cute but really big clothes from your closet or drawers. Dress them up with a cool clown wig, face paint and clown shoes. Don't forget the big red nose! You can make this from a Styrofoam ball that has been painted red.
A scarecrow is another easy home made Halloween costume. You will need a flannel shirt and a little straw to stick out at the bottom of the sleeves and pockets. Then take an old pair of faded blue jeans and sew on a few patches.
A mummy is a great costume and you can use strips of an old white sheet or gauze. Wrap up the one who wants to be a mummy and use white paint on their face. Be sure to have the mummy walk like one!
An accountant might be fun. Slick back your hair and make sure your pants are too short. Grab a white shirt and remember the pocket protector and calculator. Tape up a pair of glasses and put on some charming white socks and your costume is complete.
