Halloween Tombstones to Make
Halloween tombstones are fun to make and some can even be eaten! These Halloween tombstones make great decorations and you can serve the edible ones to guests.
Let's start with the cardboard variety. These are the easiest and also the least expensive to make. You can use these tombstones inside or out. All you do is cut the tombstones shapes out of cardboard and spray paint them. You can use gray paint with a little black for accent. Then using a permanent black marker, write an epitaph on each one. Finish up with a coat of spray sealer.
Wooden tombstones will last longer and won't fall apart as easily in the rain and snow compared to their cardboard brothers. You will need a saw and -inch plywood for this project. After cutting out the tombstones use primer and then spray paint to cover. You can add the words with black paint and then attach the tombstones at the bottom to a piece of a 2x4 that you have also primed and painted. Seal the entire tombstone with clear sealer.
Now for the edible tombstones. You will need eight fudge coated graham cookies, eight fun size candy bars, four graham crackers split in half, white and chocolate frosting, pumpkin candy and green-tinted coconut. Put the plain cracker on a plate and use the chocolate frosting to attach the candy bar on top of it. Then attach the cookie to the back of the candy bar using the chocolate frosting to form the tombstone. Using the white frosting in a decorating bag with a fine tip, write each persons name on the tombstone. Decorate the bottoms of the tombstones with the coconut grass and candy pumpkins.
