The perfect ending to a perfect night of ghosts and goblins and trick or treating, has to be a spooky dessert. Halloween cakes are always a fun way to finish a night of intrigue. From the simplest to the more complex recipes, there is a Halloween cake out there for all of us!
The easiest Halloween cake is the pumpkin cake. Simply ice your cake with orange frosting and decorate by making any expressive pumpkin face. You can use candy corn or broken pieces of chocolate to decorate. Some people simply prefer to use a chocolate frosting cake writer to draw the face.
Another fun cake that is quite popular among children is the worms and dirt cake. Simply scoop out a small portion of the very center of your cake. Fill it with crushed chocolate cookies (to resemble dirt) and gummy worms. Let some of the worms 'crawl' out of the hole and rest on the top of the cake. This can be quite dramatic when it is decorated carefully.
Another effective and easy decoration for a Halloween cake is gross colored frosting. A little bit of food coloring goes a long way, and green frosting can be especially spooky. Throw a few gummy spiders on top and you have a revolting masterpiece. Or just use black and orange frosting and swirl or stripe your cake.
