Bobbing for Apples
This classic harvest game gets messy, so play this one outside. Place a round wash tub on a table, and fill it with water. Float apples on top. Game participants must fish out the apples with their mouths, while keeping their hands behind their backs at all times. The player with the most apples wins! This is one of the more exciting, and frantic games to play at a Halloween party.
Halloween Match
This game is a Halloween version of "Bingo". Make photocopies of a grid, and hand them out to the players, along with bingo chips, and markers. As you read from slips of paper, the players will write Halloween words like, black cat, ghost, jack-o-lantern, and haunted house, on their grids, at random.
Take the slips of paper, and place them in a box, shake them up, and draw them out, blindly. The players will us their chips to form chains. When a player forms a string, they must yell "Bingo!".
Pass The Pumpkin
This game is a version of "Hot Potato". Purchase pumpkin-shaped cookies, or mini-pumpkin pies. If you use cookies, wrap them in plastic wrap. Find Halloween tunes to play on a stereo.
Have all the children to sit in a circle, passing their treats clockwise. As the music plays, an adult stands with their back turned to the circle, and randomly stops the music. The child holding the treat when the music stops is out of the game, but gets to keep the snack! The last child remaining gets a grand prize.
